Guwahati Traffic Police issues guidelines for vehicular movement during Durga Puja

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Traffic Police has imposed several restrictions on all kinds of vehicles in the city for Durga Puja. While all goods vehicles have been restricted from entering the city area from 1 pm to 4 pm, restrictions have been imposed on private and passenger vehicles at MG Road on the day of Dashami.

The guidelines for traffic diversion during Durga Puja are as follows:

1. Goods carrying vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city from 1:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

2. City bus routes will be diverted. No bus from Sixmile or Jalukbari will be allowed to enter the city.

3. Trekkers, Battery Rickshaw, and Tempo will not be allowed to move in RP Road.

4. AT Road will be a ‘No Parking’area.

5. Vehicles coming from Tokobari, Paltan Bazaar, Ulubari, Rehabari, Birubari, Chatribari, Bishnupur, and Lalganesh areas shall move either via

                            a) BK Kakoti Road, Ulubari, GS Road, Paltan bazar, Panbazar road over bridge, MLN Road and MG Road

                             b) AK Azad Road, Nepali Mandir, Panbazar road over the bridge, ML Nehru Road and MG Road.

6. Vehicles from Kumarpara, Athgoan and Fatasil areas can move via AT Road, TRP Road, Kedar Road, and MG Road to Kachomari Ghat.

7. Vehicles from Rajgarh, Bhangagarh and Christian Basti areas can move via GS Road, Guwahati Club, MC Road, FC Road and MG Road.

8. Vehicles from Ganeshguri, Dispur and Kahilipara areas can move from Ganeshguri via RG Baruah road (Zoo Road), MR Dewan Raod, Guwahati Club, MC Road, FC Road, and MG Road.

9. Only idols carrying vehicles will be allowed at MG Road on Dashami. No other vehicles will be allowed to move in MG Road on Dashami.
