Guwahati: Three hotels owned by PK Dutta sealed

GUWAHATI: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Crime Branch of Assam Police sealed three hotels owned by former deputy inspector general (DIG) PK Dutta in Guwahati. The former cop who is an accused in the Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam is on run since Wednesday.

The Crime Branch and CID sealed Hotel Bhargav, Bhargav Inn at Paltan Bazaar and Hotel Bhargav at Ganeshguri. The investigating team has been conducting raids at several properties owned   by the tainted former cop.

Dutta who amassed an empire of disproportionate assets is the owner of several hotels under Bhargav chain. He also owns many tea gardens in the Barak Valley and Dibrugarh district.

According to reports, Dutta procured more than 100 bighas of land in Dibrugarh. He is also the owner of an under-construction apartment in the Dibrugarh town.
