GUWAHATI, Jan 13: The special task force (STF) of Assam Police seized fake notes of face value amounting to Rs 11.31 lakh during a raid in Ganeshguri area of Guwahati today.
Two persons involved in the counterfeit currency racket were also arrested along with the seized fake currency.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ruful Amin (22) and Jakir Hussain (30).
While Ruful Amin hails from Laluk in Lakhimpur district, Jakir Hussain is a resident of Saru-Dampur near Hajo in Kamrup district.
Both were staying at Mathura Nagar locality in Dispur.
Apart from the cash, three mobile phones were also recovered from the possession of the arrested fake note racketeers.
