GUWAHATI: A wild elephant was hit and killed by a speeding train at Panbari in the Chandrapur area, near Guwahati in the wee hours of Friday.
“The elephant came at around 3.30 AM. It was hit and killed by a train,” said a local man.
Meanwhile, forest department team has arrived on the spot.
The death of the elephant has raised concern among the local people.
