In a tragic accident, a person lost his life when a electric pole fell on him while he was riding his scooty in Guwahati’s Kahilipara area on Monday night.
As per reports, the deceased has been identified as Jitu Hazarika, a school bus driver of RNS Academy, situated in Kahilipara.
The accident took place while Hazarika was travelling on his scooter and was on his way to pick up his child from coaching class when an electric pole suddenly fell on him, leading to his immediate death.
Hazarika was a resident of Lok Bandhu Nagar in Kahilipara.
The incident has sent shockwaves in the region and locals have appealed for the removal of all old and torn out electric poles from the region.
