Guwahati Rains: The Government has asked people to remain alert and to follow official updates following the downpour
Guwahati Rains: Guwahati-North Guwahati ferry services suspended ~ Ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati have been suspended as a precautionary measure following the heavy rains that has been lashing Guwahati and its adjoining areas since Thursday (May 29).
The suspension order, it is learnt, will be in place till the time adverse weather conditions continue.
The IMD had on Wednesday (May 28) warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Guwahati and other parts of Assam, especially Southern and Western, for the next 2-3 days.
Meanwhile, several localities of Guwahati have been waterlogged following the heavy rains that has been lashing the capital city since yesterday.
Normal life has been thrown out of gear following the heavy rains that have been pouring down almost continuously in Guwahati.
Severe waterlogging has been reported from various localities, including Rukminigaon, Beltola, Hatigaon, Anil Nagar etc.
The State Government, meanwhile, has asked people to remain alert and follow official updates in the wake of heavy rainfall and flash-floods.
