GUWAHATI: “All the financial issues for Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge have been resolved. We are looking forward to set-up the first post of the bridge within next 45 days,” said Assam minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today.
Minister Sarma said that the work for the much-anticipated bridge would begin soon. The proposed bridge over the Brahmaputra will reduce the travelling time to North Guwahati by ferries or via Saraighat bridge.
Meanwhile, following the announcement of minister Sarma, S.P Singla Construction Company has already started building its office at Majgaon of North Guwahati. The company has been endowed with the responsibility of construction of the bridge.
“Almost 150-200 workers will be engaged for the construction,” said an employee of the construction company.
