GUWAHATI: The newly constructed flyover at Ganeshguri in Guwahati will be inaugurated for the people on October 22. The new flyover has been constructed prior to the estimated time of completion. The estimated time for the project was 24 months. However, the flyover has been constructed within 19 months.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone of the flyover on March 6, 2019. It was estimated to be completed within March 6, 2021. However, the pace of work got momentum during the lockdown.
The total length of flyover wing is 398.5 metres and the carriage way (width) of flyover is 27 metres. The flyover has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 58.47 crore.
It is expected that the new flyover will reduce the traffic congestion in the city.
