GUWAHATI, April 8: A Guwahati-based male doctor has been arrested by Guwahati City Police after a woman filed a complaint with police accusing him of molesting her and touching her inappropriately in the presence of other men at his clinic during a therapy session.
Dr Subrat Dey, who runs a pain therapy clinic in the city’s Six Mile locality, was arrested after a case was registered (Case No: 321/2025) under sections 296/77/79 of BNS at Dispur Police Staion following the woman’s complaint.
The complainant alleged that the doctor molested her besides touching her inappropriately in the presence of other male members of his clinic when she had gone to his chamber for a therapy session on Monday afternoon.
She further alleged that yesterday was not the first time that she had undergone such an experience of inappropriate behaviour since she had experienced similar treatment when she went to his clinic for the first time in March this year.
The accused doctor, meanwhile, rejected the complainant’s allegations saying that he was framed and that he sees several women patients daily but no one had ever raised such accusations against him.
