GUWAHATI: Amid rise of COVID-19 cases in Assam, Kalapahar Hospital in Guwahati has been converted into a fully functional COVID-19 facility. Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma along with minister of state Pijush Hazarika on Saturday visited the hospital and took stock of the preparedness.
Kalapahar Hospital will work under Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) from today. It will start operating from 6PM today.
Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in a Tweet that 20 doctors, 30 nurses, 25 grade-4 staff and 9 cleaners have already joined duty. It is expected that newly-converted facility will give a boost to the Assam Government’s fight against COVID-19.
