GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a woman was strangled to death by her husband who later packed the body in a sack and hid it under the bed. According to reports, the couple had a fight and the wife tried to attack her husband with a knife. Defending himself the husband, Mainul, strangulated the wife and killed her. He then packed the body in a sack and hid it under the bed and informed the Hatigaon Police about the incident.
Hatigaon Police rushed to the residence and broke in and recovered the body. The body was immediately sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) for post-mortem. The woman has been identified as Rashida Begum of Dhubri, Assam.
“OC sir informed me about the incident. He said that Mainul called them and informed them. We immediately came to the spot and broke into their house. At first, we did not find anything, but later after a search, we found the body under the bed. After a fight, she tried to attack him with a knife, he got angry, and strangled her. Mainul is from Dhubri district of Assam,” said a Police officer.
