Guwahati: Hotels, bars and restaurants in Guwahati can remain open till midnight for New Year revelers with the Kamrup district administration relaxing restrictions imposed for Covid management.
Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha on Thursday said prior permission needs to be taken for keeping their facilities open till midnigt.
“It means that bars, restaurants and hotels can remain open till midnight on New Year’s eve provided they obtain necessary permission from the district authorities,”Jha said.
He also informed that a Task Force has been formed December 31st night to keep a check on drunk driving and other violations by revelers.
He further said that there will be no travelling restrictions with the night curfew lifted on December 31.
Appealing to the city residents, the DC asked for their cooperation to ensure that Guwahati has a safe and accident free celebration on December 31.
