GUWAHATI: Asmakam Foundation has organised first ever Night Marathon of Northeast India in Guwahati today.
The night marathon which has been organised to promote healthy living will be flagged off by Bollywood star Yami Gautam at he Veterinary College Field at Khanapara after sometime. On the other hand, Asmakam Lifetime Achievement Award 2020 will be presented to Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah.
Thousands of participants from various parts of Northeast India have already thronged in the venue to take part in the marathon. The marathon event has been categorized into the full 42.2-kilometer run, half marathon of 21.1 kilometers, 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers (also for under-18 participants). There will be a 3-kilometer walkathon, too.
Speaking to media persons, siner Zublee Boruah said, “So many people have come to take part in the night run which is happening for the first time. It doesn’t look like that it has been organised for the first time. It is really a great initiative.”
