GUWAHATI, Feb 18: In a major reprieve for YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani in the ‘India’s Got Latent’ case after he was booked by Assam Police over obscene remarks made by fellow YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia in an episode of the online show, Gauhati High Court granted him interim bail until March 7.

The HC has, however, ordered Ashish to appear before Assam Police within seven days after granting his pre-arrest bail, reports stated.

While hearing Chanchlani’s anticipatory bail application, Justice Mridul Kumar Kalita granted him temporary reprive while noting that there were no specific allegations in the FIR and that the applicant had expressed readiness to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier on Feb 10 announced via a social media post that Guwahati Police has registered an FIR against five YouTubers, including Ranveer Allahabadia and Ashish Chanchlani, for Allahbadia’s obscene remarks made on the show.
