GUWAHATI: Four youth were arrested with banned drugs from Pub-Sarania area of the city on Saturday. The Guwahati Police seized a container with drugs, heroin, two air rifles and seven number of mobile phones. The arrested have been identified as Johny Ali, Altafuddin Laskar, Ashok Chetri and Rahul Das.
Under the strict orders of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma the Assam Police has waged a war against drugs and has been dealing strictly with peddler and suppliers. Every day, the police has been arresting people acting as couriers in connection with drugs peddling and transportion. Also, a lot of drugs like heroin, cocaine, ganja, psychotropic tablets and a large amount of cash has been seized across the state by Assam Police in past two months.

Last night, in a joint operation by CGPD SOG, Chandmari PS & Noonmati PS Staff – 4 drug traffickers – Jony Ali, AU Laskar, Ashok Chetry & Rahul Das were arrested.
28 Heroin filled vials, 2 air rifles & 7 mobiles were recovered.
