GUWAHATI: Guwahati has reported its first Coronavirus positive case on Friday night. The patient, a resident of Spanish Garden in Zoo Road area had returned from Delhi. This is also the first case in Assam which has no link with Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi, the hotspot of Coronavirus cases in the country.
The family members of the man including his wife and two children have been immediately quarantined after he had tested positive. Currently the man is being treated in the isolation ward of Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati.
According to the reports, the patient is a businessman by profession. He was admitted to the hospital following respiratory problems.
