Guwahati: Principal Secretary to the Assam Health Department Samir K. Sinha clarified in an order that the availability of the COVID-19 result report is not mandatory for shopkeepers, employees and delivery persons to open shops and other permitted establishments.
However, since the Health & Family Welfare Department has been taking steps for extensive COVID-19 testing in order to safeguard public health, COVID-19 testing teams may be deployed by the District Administration to visit the shops etc. and carry out Rapid Antigen tests of the management and staff. In such a case, the owner/ management will extend full cooperation to the testing team, in larger public interest.
