GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal today attended the 28th Central Dehal (Rongker) Kachirdom festival of the Karbi tribe at Birkuchi in Guwahati.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Sonowal said, “Karbi society is hard-working and peace-loving. It has a strong history and heritage which will contribute in strengthening the greater Assamese society.”

The Karbi community has been playing a integral role towards Assam’s progress and development.

Along with chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Guwahati MP Queen Ojha, minister Sum Ronghang attended the festival.
A colourful cultural procession was also taken out today on the occasion of the two-day festival.
