Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Friday and met the doctors, faculty and other medical staff to take stock of preparedness and treatment facilities.
CM Sarma also visited Dr. Abhijit Sarma, Superintendent,GMCH who tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr. Abhijit Sarma who has been a frontline warrior against the deadly disease had recently tested positive for COVID-19.
CM Sarma wished the superintendent a speedy recovery and also advised him to take good care of himself.
Taking to his Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Also visited the Superintendent of GMCH, Dr @abhijitsarma, who tested #COVID19 positive. Enquired about his health, and advised him to take good care of himself. Wish him a speedy recovery.”

CM Sarma also took stock of oxygen availability, medicines, ICU beds & other medical infra at GMCH to ensure best treatment to patients and reviewed the construction work of 200-bed COVID19 Hospital at the GMCH parking lot.
