GUWAHATI: Kamrup (Metropolitan) district administration has withdrawn the closure order of Machkhowa Branch of Allahabad Bank in Guwahati after all the officials of the branch tested negative for COVID-19. Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) has notified the withdrawal of the closer order with immediate effect from the afternoon of May 18.
“However the Bank Authority will arrange to sanitize the bank branch before starting their banking activities. Also the entire staff will strictly follow the COVID-19 protocols,” stated the order.
Earlier on May 15, the district administration ordered the suspension of all the administrative functions and transactions of the bank after it came to light that some COVID-19 positive patients had transacted money at the bank.
