Guwahati: Though the administration has issued certain guidelines to maintain COVID-19 protocols in view of rising COVID-19 cases in Guwahati, particularly with no travel history, gatherings have been noticed in various parts of the city flouting social distancing norms.
In view of that, Kamrup Metro District administration on Thursday issued a notice to close Belotala daily and bi-weekly-market from today with immediate effect.
The notice stated, “In view of the large gathering of people, non maintenance of COVID-19 protocols induding non maintenance of social distancing and also in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in the Guwahati City, the Beltola Daly and by-weekly market is declared close with immediate effect. Any violation of this order will attract penal action under relevant provisions disaster Management Act, 2020. This has the approval of the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Kamrup Metropolitan District and will be in force until further order”.
