GUWAHATI: COVID-19 situation in Guwahati has been turning grim as the number of new cases with no travel history has been increasing rapidly. So far, 880 people with no travel history have been found COVID-19 positive in Guwahati.
On Friday 203 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the city.
Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “ The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Guwahati and its nearby areas is increasing rapidly.”
With the rise of COVID-19 cases in Guwahati, the government has re-imposed a 14-day lockdown
in Kamrup (Metropolitan) district from Sunday night till July 12.
The authorities revealed that lockdown would be implemented strictly to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
