GUWAHATI: All the 82 people from from B. Barooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) in Guwahati who had come into contact with dead COVID-19 patient Deepkia Nath tested negative for COVID-19.
Dr. Amal Kataki, director of BBCI told News Live, “I am happy to inform you that all the 82 people who had come into contact with Deepika Nath tested COVID-19 negative. This is good news for all of us.”
The 16 year old girl Deepika, a relative of a casual cleaner of B. Barooah Cancer Institute tested COVID-19 positive after her death. The girl died after she complained fever and pain in her leg. Following the death, swab of the girl was collected which emerged as COVID-19 positive.
Later, swabs of 82 persons who had come into contact with Deepika were collected. However, they tested negative on Monday which has come as a matter of relief for the hospital as well as people of the city.
