GUWAHATI: Sixty new COVID-19 counselling centres in Guwahati have started function from today. With this the total number of COVID counselling centres in the city has increased to 103.
In order to set up the new centres in the area sabhas in Guwahati, 60 more laboratory technicians were appointed in the health department on Monday. Addressing the newly-appointed technicians at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma urged them to dedicate themselves in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID counselling centres provide multiple services including—COVID counselling, swab collection, medical examination, result reporting, shifting of positive cases to isolation centres and disseminating information regarding COVID-19.
