GUWAHATI: Bihari Patty area of Bhutnath in Guwahati was declared a containment zone on Tuesday after a man and his nine-year-old daughter tested COVID-19 positive. The patient named Subhraj Singh is related to potato godown case at Fancy Bazaar. According to reports, around 50 people live in his complex as tenants. Surprisingly, 30 tenant families use a common bathroom which has become a matter of grave concern for the authorities.

Though the health department has been urging people to use separate toilet, separate living room and utensils to avoid the spread of COVID-19, the tenant families living in COVID-19 patient’s house have been using the common bathroom.

According to reports, COVID-19 patient Subhraj Singh also owns a potato godown at Fancy Bazaar. Rakesh Singh, another COVID-19 patient who had come into Mungru Sahani’s contact visited Subham at his residence on May 11. It has been suspected that Subham and his daughter contracted the virus from Rakesh. Both of them are being treated at Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital.
