Guwahati: 3 Dead Bodies of missing school children recovered at Pandu ghat, 1 still missing

Guwahati: Three dead bodies among four missing school students at Pandu ghat has been recovered on Sunday evening.

In a joint operation launched by NDRF & SDRF, three bodies have been rescued from the Brahmaputra and one of them is still missing.

Rescued three bodies were identified as Dip Sarkar, Dayal Sheikh and Jit Das.

The other student, Abinash Das, is yet to be traced.

According to the family members, the four high school students went missing near the Pandu ghat after the four students went to the Brahmaputra river to swim and take a bath after their tuition classes got over.

The incident took place on Sunday near the SRP office at Pandu in Guwahati.

The locals noticed the schoolbags of the students on the bank of the Brahmaputra at 2 pm on Sunday.

The belongings of the students are identified by their family members today.

Later it was found from one of the missing boy’s social media account, as he had put some photographs and videos of them enjoying, that they had gone for a swim and have not returned home since then.

The schoolbags and slippers of the students were recovered earlier.

However, a search operation is still being carried to find out the missing school student.
