Guwahati: 21 people with Tripura’s COVID19 patient link test negative

GUWAHATI: The people from Guwahati who came into close contact with Tripura’s first COVID19 patient tested negative for COVID19. According to the reports, 21 people including 8 persons of Kamakhya Devalaya and 13 people of Hotel Sukhmani at Paltan Bazar came into contact with the woman. However, all of them tested negative for COVID19.

Though all of them tested negative for Coronavirus, they have been asked to remain in quarantine for 14 days. Kamrup (M) joint director of Health Service Dr. Ganesh Saikia said that 8 persons from Kamakhya Devalaya had been asked to remain under quarantine at their home. On the other hand, employees of Hotel Sukhmani will be in quarantine at the hotel itself.

Meanwhile, it has also come to light that COVID19 positive woman visited Vishal Mega Mart at Paltan Bazar on March 17. The health department has asked 20 employees of the shopping mall to remain under quarantine. It has also been looking for 10 customers who paid their bill at the time when Gitarani Karmakar was also present at the cash counter to pay her bill. The bill number of the Tripura woman is 41.The health department has been trying to find out the customers with bill numbers 31 to 51.
