GUWAHATI: After Dr. Lithikesh, a post graduate student of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati tested COVID-19 positive, Assam health department collected swabs of many employees and students of GMCH who had come into contact with the COVID-19 positive doctor. Among them, 180 samples tested negative, informed Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
However a girl student of Regional Dental College, Guwahati who had come into contact with Dr. Lithikesh tested COVID-19 positive.
Late at night Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Regional Dental College and met the girl student, faculty and other female boarders and assured them all help and cooperation.
“We have collected the samples of all PG students of GMCH. Today we have got the results of 180 samples, all of them tested negative. But unfortunately, a girl student of Regional Dental College tested positive. We are going to take samples from Regional Dental College also,” said minister Sarma.
