The death of a B. Tech student of Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology (GUIST), has sparked tension at the University premise.
The 3rd Semester Electronics & Communication department student, Himangshu Neog, allegedly died on Friday early hours due to negligence and absence of experienced doctors at Gauhati University Hospital.

Himangshu lost his control and fell on the ground severely injuring his head on Thursday night. He was taken to Gauhati University hospital but was later referred to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH). The student was declared dead in MMCH.
The students locked up Gauhati University Hospital and demanded immediate a probe of the incident. Meanwhile, the parents of Himangshu in Jorhat also demanded justice to their son.
