Govt. to prepare rehabilitation policy for NDFB cadres: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: “We will prepare a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation policy for all the NDFB cadres so that they remain in the mainstream,” said Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Arms Laying Ceremony by the members of the all four factions of NDFB at GMCH Auditorium today.

“The relief and rehabilitation policy will be prepared and implemented with the consultation of leaders of all the four factions of NDFB — Gobinda Basumatary, Dhiren Bodo, Ranjan Daimary and B. Saoraigwra,” minister Sarma added.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sarma also invited the United Liberation Front of Assam(I) for the peace talks.

“BJP government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is working for the permanent peace in Assam. Bodo Accord is the latest example,” Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

“We thank prime minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah on behalf of the people of Assam for bringing permanent peace in BTR,” he stated.

Minister Sarma also termed the Bodo Peace Accord as historic that was signed by all the factions of NDFB, ABSU and UBPO.

“We will bring Bodo Kachari Autonmous Council Bill in the next assembly session for the Bodos residing outside BTR,” Dr. Sarma mentioned in his speech.
