GUWAHATI: Guwahati Municipal Corporation has made various parking slots in Guwahati free for public use on Wednesday. The decision was taken due to the non payment of installments by the lessee.
The information was shared through a notification issued in a local newspaper by the Commissioner, Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
The official notification stated, “In the interest of public service and in supersession of all earlier orders. I am directed to inform all concerned that the parking slots of the defaulter lessees who have failed to deposit installments to Guwahati Municipal Corporation shall remain free for public till the settlement of fresh tender for the FY 2021-22 or till they clear the dues, whichever is earlier. The list of parking slots is enclosed herewith.
Parking fee collection till the settlement of fresh tenders in the mentioned slots shall be illegal and if such activities are seen strict actions will be taken as per law.”
