GUWAHATI: A girl died in a massive landslide in Kharghuli area of Guwahati on Sunday. Priyanka Boro, a student of Guwahati College died in the landslide triggered by incessant rains while she was busy with household chores in the morning. Later her body was recovered from the debris.
The deceased was well-known as a talented dancer who exhibited her expertise on several platforms. The death of Priyanka has descended a pall of gloom in the entire area. Several organisations and personalities from the cultural arena have expressed profound grief over the death of the promising dancer.
Earlier on Friday, a 62-year old woman died in another landslide in Kahilipara area of the city.
