GUWAHATI: As the number of COVID-19 cases in Kamrup Metropolitan district has crossed the 1,000-mark, Gauhati University has published a notification for its students regarding the closure of the University till 11th May, 2021.
All the examinations, that were supposed to take place within this period have been postponed. The controller of Gauhati University will issue a detailed notification regarding the examinations soon.
The official notification issued by Registrar, Gauhati University on 26 April stated,” It is notified for information of all concerned that pursuant upon the order no. DDMA K(M20/2021/182-A dated 26.04.2021, Gauhati University is hereby declared closed w.e.f. 27th April 2021 to 11th May 2021.
All Examinations in Gauhati University and in its affiliated Colleges/institutes are also hereby postponed with immediate effect. The Controller of Examinations, G.U. will issue a detailed notification very shortly regarding the Examination.”
All the hostels have also been declared closed from 27 April(Tuesday) till 11 May and the students have been asked to vacate the hostels as soon as possible.
