GUWAHATI, Dec 16: India were tottering at 51 for 4 as rain and bad light forced early end to play on day three of the third Test at the Gabba in Brisbane today (Dec 16).
India now have a mammoth task in hand as they trail the Australian first innings score of 445 by 394 runs.
Only 17 overs could be bowled in the Indian innings as play was suspended several times due to rain.
KL Rahul was batting on 33 (64) while skipper Rohit Sharma, who came lower down the order once again, was yet to open his account.
Mitchel Starc took the wickets of opener Jaiswal (4) and Shubman Gill (1) while Hazlewood dismissed Virat Kohli who could make only 3 runs while skipper Cummins took the wicket of Rishabh Pant who made 9 from 12 balls.
Earlier in the morning Australia, resuming at their overnight score of 405/7, were bundled out for 445 runs in 117.1 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah scalped six Australian wickets while Mohammed Siraj picked up two. Akash Deep and Nitish Kumar Reddy took one wicket apiece.
