GUWAHATI, Jan 23: After a brief lull, authorities in the US have been forced to issue evacuation orders for 50,000 people after a fresh wildfire — the Hughes Fire — broke out near Los Angeles and is spreading rapidly through the parched and dry vegetation.
The fire broke out near Lake Castaic which is a popular recreational area close to regions already devastated by the Eaton and Palisades fires.
The blaze, reports said, began spreading rapidly, prompting the evacuation of more than 31,000 people. An additional 23,000 residents remain under evacuation warnings, media reports quoting the LA County Sheriff Robert Luna stated.
