Four films from Assam selected for Indian Panorama of IFFI

Guwahati: Four films—three features and one non-feature– from Assam have made it to Indian Panorama of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Semkhor (Dimasa) by Aimee Baruah, Boomba Ride (Mishing) by Biswajeet Bora and Sijou (Bodo) by Vishal P Chalia have been selected in the feature section while Kishor Kalita’s documentary film Veerangana has been chosen for the non-feature category of the festival.

Semkhor, the award-winning Dimasa language film, represents the practices, customs, and folk notions of the people of Semkhor.

A Manipuri non-feature film by Haobam Paban Kumar has also been selected for the section.

Paban Kumar’s documentary Pabung Syam (Manipuri) has been selected in the non-feature section.

The films will be screened during the 52nd edition of the IFFI of Goa to be held from November 20 to November 28, 2021.

The festival is being organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with the Goa government.

The selected films will be showcased to all the registered delegates and representatives from the selected films during the 9-day festival.
