GUWAHATI, Dec 16: Four persons have so far succumbed to bullet injuries suffered in police firing on protesters during protests against the amended Citizenship Act, Assam Government spokesperson and State Finance, Health and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed on Monday.
“Twenty-seven persons were brought to GMCH with bullet injuries suffered during police firing. Four of them have been killed. They are Dipunjal Das, Sam Stafford, Ishwar Nayak and Abdul Alim,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said in Guwahati.
He further said 13 of the injured have already been discharged while 10 are still undergoing treatment.
