At least four people, all of them construction workers, were killed while 20 more were injured in a tragic road accident at Dholpur in Assam’s Lakhimpur district. The accident took place when a pick-up van carrying the construction workers and on its way to Lakhimpur from Bihpuria turned turtle on the National Highway 52.
The accident took place around 6:30 in the morning. While two of the deceased died on the spot, the other two succumbed to his injuries at Lakhimpur Civil Hospital.
Three of the four deceased have been identified as Dulal Kuli, Dibya Kuli and Maina Pegu. All the four deceased hail from Bedati in Bihpuria.
