Former British PM Rishi Sunak, his family meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi

GUWAHATI, Feb 19: Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his family met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

The Former UK PM was accompanied by his mother-in-law Sudha Murty, a Rajya Sabha MP, along with his wife Akshata Narayana Murty and their two daughters.

Both dignitaries had a wonderful conversation on many subjects, the Prime Minister’s office said.

Prime Minister Modi said Rishi Sunak is a great friend of India and is passionate about even stronger India-UK ties.

“It was a delight to meet former UK PM, Mr. Rishi Sunak and his family! We had a wonderful conversation on many subjects. Mr Sunak is a great friend of India and is passionate about even stronger India-UK ties,” Prime Minister Modi wrote on ‘X’, formerly Twitter.

“Wonderful to catch up with my friend @narendramodi.

Thank you for so warmly welcoming my family, too!

Always exciting to hear your vision for India, and so important the UK-India relationship goes from strength to strength,” the former UK PM wrote on ‘X’.

Sunak also visited the Indian Parliament prior to calling on Prime Minister Modi.
