GUWAHATI: Floods induced by incessant rains in Assam for the last few days also hit Kaziranga National Park which is known for one-horned rhinos. Several areas of the national park have been inundated by floodwaters.
Wild animals including rhinos have come outside the park seeking shelter as the park has been hit by deluge.
On Saturday, a rhino was seen roaming openly on national Highway 37.
Meanwhile, the forest department has been leaving no stone unturned to protect the wildlife of the park as poachers take opportunity to kill rhino during the floods.
The food scene in Assam has been turning grim as the rivers including the Brahmaputra are flowing above the danger level in many districts of the state.
