In Guwahati city, several areas have been waterlogged by flash floods due to heavy downpour. Rain inundated roads, government office campuses, schools and colleges on Monday.

Due to illegal encroachment of narrow culverts in several public and private areas, artificial flood resulted in a chaotic situation in the city. Water has entered several houses in different areas, including GS road, Tarun Nagar and Nabinnagar.
The heavy rainfall has also caused heavy traffic jams and commuters are left stranded on roads. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 33 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively, the India Meteorological Department website posted.
