GUWAHATI: “The condition of the patient is stable. He fell ill on March 18. We hope he will recover within 4-5 days,” said Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma after the first Coronavirus positive case has been detected in Assam.
A 52-year old man from Silchar has been tested for Coronavirus at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The second test at NIV Pune also turned out to be positive.
“The people who were with the patient have been kept in isolation or quarantined. We will share more details tomorrow keeping the required privacy of the patient. As of now we are equipped to deal with the situation. We will have to wait till the results of those who had returned from Nizamuddin come out tomorrow,” Dr. Sarma added.
