GUWAHATI: Assam’s first 3D animation film ‘A Blind Dog’ has been invited to the prestigious Cine Next Festival organised by Bay Area South Asian Film Festival (BASAFF) in San Francisco, California, USA.

‘A Blind Dog’ is India’s only representation that will be screened in the non-competitive Animated Shorts category. Another Assamese feature film to get selected in the festival is “Bulbul can sing” by Rima Das.

‘A Blind Dog’, directed and animated by Riyan Hazarika is the first Assamese 3-D feature film certified by the Central Board of Film Certification. Editing and music is by Axl Hazarika.

Riyan Hazarika’s earlier work includes the 2012 animated video ‘Hum Badal Gaye’ where he introduced himself as a director. ‘Hum Badal Gaye’ was the first animation video produced in the Northeast.
