Fire extinguisher blast in Guwahati: Man killed on first working day


GUWAHATI: An employee of a fire extinguisher refill shop at Rukminigaon in Guwahati was killed in a freak explosion at the shop on Tuesday. The deceased identified as 36-year-old Mridul Deka was a resident of Nalbari district in lower Assam. Tragically, today was his first working day at the shop.

Meanwhile, police arrived on the spot and started investigation.  The incident has descended a pall of gloom in the area. The tragic incident took place on the second day of the Unlock 1.0 when the city has been limping back to normal life. Most of the shops in Guwahati have reopened their shutter after the Government of Assam published guidelines for Unlock 1.0 on Monday.

The victim joined the shop on Tuesday and incidentally lost his life on the same day.
