GUWAHATI: A gas pipeline is on fire at Dihing Patkai National Park. High flames can be seen erupting from the pipeline on both sides of the road in Dihing Patkai, possibly due to a leakage.
The reason of fire is yet to be ascertained and officials have rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
People of the area fear that the fire might spread to other parts. The fire from the gas pipeline remains uncontrolled at the moment.
Dehing Patkai National Park is located in the Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts of Assam and covers an area of 231.65 km² rainforest.
