GUWAHATI, April 6: A devastating fire broke out in an LG showroom in Jorhat on Sunday morning, reducing several TV sets, refrigerators and other electronics goods worth around Rs 50 lakh to ash.

The fire broke out at the LG showroom located at Old Balibat locality of the town, creating panic among residents of the area.

The outlet was closed when the fire broke out.

Firemen entering the showroom of electronics giant LG at Old Balibat in Jorhat where the devastating fire broke out on Sunday morning.

Several fire tenders were pressed into service and firemen battled hard before finally dousing the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire.

Initial investigations reveal the blaze was triggered by a short-circuit although a detailed investigation to ascertain the actual case of fire and damage to property is being initiated.
