Filmfare Awards: Guwahati ready to welcome Bollywood stars, LGBI airport decked up


Guwahati: Guwahati is all set to welcome the who’s who of Bollywood attending the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards on 15th February.

The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport has been specially decorated to welcome these stars. Meanwhile, security arrangements have been tightened in and around the airport to ensure law and order during their arrival.

“We have already executed a well-maintained plan to take the Bollywood stars to their respective hotels and we have to tighten the security to ensure law and order and to provide a hassle-free service to the stars coming for the Filmfare Awards” said an Assam Police official.

People from all over Guwahati especially the youths have gathered in the airport to get a glimpse of their favorite actors.

“I have come all the way from Sivasagar to see Ranveer Singh. It’s a moment of pride for the people of Assam as for the very first time Filmfare awards are happening here. I have brought a welcome cake for Ranveer Singh and I wish we could get a chance to meet him. And not only Ranveer Singh we have specially come here to see Boolywood diva Madhuri Dixit,” said a fan.

Chartered planes will transport the Bollywood stars to the city from Friday. Bollywood stars Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Radhika Apte, Ayushmann Khuranna, Bhumi Pandekar and Madhuri Dixit are scheduled to reach Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at around 2 PM in the afternoon for the Filmfare Awards.

Superstar Govinda is scheduled to reach the city around 7 PM in the evening while Akshay Kumar is set to reach at around 1 AM.
