GUWAHATI, Nov 3: Security forces in Iran have arrested a female student for taking off her clothes outside a University in Tehran in protest against hijab restrictions.
The female student was allegedly attacked for wearing a hijab inappropriately, in violation of Tehran’s strict modesty laws, following which she stripped to her undergarments outside Tehran’s prestigious Islamic Azad University. She was then seen defiantly walking in the street, videos posted on the social media showed.
Another video showed her being bundled into a car by men in plain clothes, apparantly security persons, and driven off to an undisclosed location.
Under the dress code mandatory in Iran, women must wear a headscarf and loose-fitting clothes in public.
