GUWAHATI, Dec 12: A court in the United Kingdom has convicted three members of a British-Pakistani girl for killing the 10-year-old girl, reports said.

While the minor girl’s father. 42-year-old Urfan Sharif and stepmother Beinash Batool (30) were found guilty of her murder, her uncle, 29-year-old Faisal Malik, was convicted of causing or allowing her death.

The family had fled to Pakistan after Sara died at the family home in Woking, Surrey, on August 8 last year.

Reports said Sharif had called the police when he arrived in Islamabad and confessed to beating her “too much”.

The three accused returned to the UK in September last year and were detained at the Gatwick airport.

Sharif, reports said, admitted to hitting Sara repeatedly with a cricket bat and pole, strangling her with his bare hands, and battering her over the head with a mobile phone.

The quantum of punishment will be delivered on Tuesday.
