Farhan Akhtar took everyone by surprise on August 8 with an announcement. The actor-filmmaker has officially announced the third installment of the ‘Don’ franchise. ‘Don 3’ is all set to be made. However, the buzz is that Shah Rukh Khan might not reprise his character in the film. As per media reports, Ranveer Singh has apparently replaced the Bollywood superstar in ‘Don 3’. The previous parts of the franchise featured SRK in the lead roles.
After Farhan Akhtar made an official announcement about ‘Don 3’, the Internet reacted to it. The official announcement of ‘Don 3’ has received mixed reactions from social media users.
Going by the comments under Farhan Akhtar’s tweet, Shah Rukh Khan fans seem to be upset. That’s because SRK has reportedly been replaced by Ranveer Singh in the film. A majority of the Internet users are of the opinion that they cannot imagine ‘Don 3’ without Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Don’ was a rebooted version of the original ‘Don’, which featured Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. ‘Don’ and ‘Don 2’ saw SRK reprising the role played by Sr Bachchan. While a small glimpse of ‘Don 3’ is revealed, the official release date of the movie is not announced yet.
ON THE WORK FRONT FOR SHAH RUKH KHAN
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of ‘Jawan’. Directed by Atlee, the film also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra and Ridhi Dogra. The film is scheduled to have a theatrical release on September 7, 2023.
After ‘Jawan’s release, SRK will be seen in ‘Dunki’ with Taapsee Pannu. The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
